Profile
Born in Gojō City, Nara, he worked as a tax accountant while pursuing his love for the game of Go, eventually opening a Go parlor in Kamagasaki. Having lived in both Abeno and Kamagasaki for nearly 50 years, he continuously painted the changing views of these neighborhoods. His works are based on photographs he took himself, as well as images from magazines and newspapers.
In 2020, he published a collection of his paintings titled Ah, Death and Life in Kamagasaki through Shinpu Shobō, describing his life with the words: “It was lonely. And just a little joyful.”
