Born in 1946, American artist Marc Sijan worked with Duane Hanson in the 1970s, refining the technique of hyperrealistic representation. Today, Sijan is Hanson's successor in hyperrealistic sculpture. To create his hyperrealistic interpretations of his life-size figures, he works long and meticulously on depictions of living models. His sculptures appear to be in motion or to depict certain emotions. Sijan always represents people in everyday situations moving with dignity and pride.
