What I want to share now: Saori weaving - inclusive weaving exhibition -
Saori weaving was invented by Misao Shiro, a housewife from Osaka, and since it sees fabric with loose warp threads as a design rather than a flaw, it has spread widely throughout Japan as a tool for free expression without mistakes. While there are many people who cannot easily express themselves through freedom, I have encountered people who express themselves naturally. These people are people with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
By weaving together, people gradually gained a new way of expression and joy. We want to share this practice with people around the world. And we wanted to make a difference in the current situation of people with disabilities, so we planned an inclusive weaving exhibition.
