HIWADROME: type_ark_spec2

Being HIWADROME and the thing that is the ARK.

Profile

Born in Osaka. He creates video works and performances exploring themes of physicality. His HIWADROME series, which uses wheelchairs—both as a material and for his own mobility—serves as a foundational line of his practice.
Through travel, workshops, and architectural interventions, he examines and proposes new perspectives on mobility and accessibility in his project walkingpractice™. He also develops TRAIL by walkingpractice™, a road-surface recording project using a wheelchair weaving machine, and experimental noise sound gigs featuring the Electric Wheelchair Sound Generator.
