Mari Hiraga solo exhibition|Shōka Ryumon

The "Shoka Ryumon" exhibition will be held at the cafe Manan in Toraya Yoshisue's Kura confectionery shop. This exhibition will feature works in a variety of formats, including the "Anthropomorphic Series" sculptures that anthropomorphize the human world, the "MEMORY Series" two-dimensional works that combine art and science on the theme of memory, and "Live Sculpture," in which sculptures are created on the spot to the sound of a Noh flute, allowing you to enjoy Mari Hiraga's worldview.
Additionally, an elaborate collaboration event will be held on the first day.

This will be a collaborative performance between a Japanese confectioner and a sculptor, in which Hiraga Mari will use seasonal high-quality sweets made by the 8th generation owner of Toraya Yoshisue to create metal sculptures. Participants will also be able to choose a few of their favorite parts from among the sculpture parts created by Hiraga Mari, and enjoy freely creating and improvising miniature metal sculptures as they assemble them.
Other exciting activities on offer include a tea ceremony kaiseki lunch, a high-quality confectionery making experience, and live sculpture by Hiraga Mari.

Profile

Mari Hiraga, Sculptor | Born in Kobe in 1983. Graduated from the Faculty of Arts at Osaka University of Arts. Graduated as a research student at the same university.
He has developed a unique style that combines plastic art with linear expression using metal. He sublimates his thoughts into organic expressions along with narrative, and expresses the human world through nature with an anthropomorphic view.
Furthermore, Hiraga Mari's worldview is expressed in various forms, such as the MEMORY series, which combines art and science on the theme of memory, and Live Sculpture, which creates sculptures during live performances.
