“Living Lines” Where Art & Creativity flows, Culture breathes, and Innovation grows.
J+ Art Awards organized by Connected Art Platform (CAP)
Curator: Mona Liem

The Connected Art Platform presents a distinguished group of artists whose works are deeply grounded in the quiet rhythms of daily Indonesian life and its rich philosophical traditions. Among them, Nasirun, one of Indonesia’s most respected contemporary artists, continues to reflect on spiritual heritage through symbols drawn from everyday encounters and cultural memory. Yessiow, a Forbes 30 Under 30 muralist from Bali, captures the energy of urban life through imagery inspired by local tradition and community experience. She is also participating in "Mural Town Konohana," an international mural project by world-renowned artists in Konohana Ward, Osaka City. Utami A. Ishii, a Japanese-Indonesian artist, finds meaning in the Sambal x food culture—centering her practice on how nourishment, both literal and emotional, connects people and preserves stories. Together, their works serve as quiet yet profound meditations on the role of food, ritual, and routine as the foundation of human life.

Alongside them, young voices such as Dwiky Aditya, Riyan , and Irsyad K. bring a sharp awareness to issues of cultural erosion and environmental transformation. Their practices examine how the loss of traditional knowledge and the disruption of human-nature relationships shape contemporary life. These artists, spanning disciplines and mediums, form a living dialogue between generations, reflecting both continuity and change within Indonesia’s evolving cultural landscape.

The platform also features three finalists from the J+ Art Awards: The GENERAYA Awards, an initiative committed to fostering emerging talent for global engagement. Popo Mangun, a thoughtful young artist, experiments with material and form to explore personal and collective narratives. From Bali, Sandat Wangi and I Gede Sukarya offer delicate yet powerful works centered on life, using floral and fruit motifs to evoke beauty, devotion, and ecological sensitivity—particularly with regard to oceanic fragility. Now in its second year, the J+ Art Awards 2025 welcomes creative minds to respond to the theme “Living Lines”, celebrating the intersections of art, ecology, and cultural innovation. With nearly 500 participants from 42 countries, The J+ Art Awards are led by four distinguished judges: Mona Liem, a Connected Art Platform founder and curator of Terra Nexus Art & Bali, Tobias Brunner, a Zurich-based visual artist and multidisciplinary designer, and Abby Hermosilla a MoMA New York curator, Yessiow the founder of Tangi Street Art festivals, Bali who also a Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2024 honoree. The program also launches the J+ Partner Program, beginning with a collaboration with Study: OKIAF Japan, to expand opportunities for cross-cultural exchange and elevate Indonesia’s creative presence on the global stage.
