"Study: Osaka Kansai International Art Festival" will hold the Japan-Korea joint international art fair "Study × PLAS: Asia Art Fair" at the Osaka International Convention Center (Grand Cube Osaka) for three days from July 21st (Mon., holiday) to July 23rd (Wed.), 2025. This fair is an international art event that commemorates the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and Korea, and aims to promote future-oriented cultural and artistic exchange and develop the creative economy throughout Asia.
"Study × PLAS: Asia Art Fair" will be held in conjunction with the Osaka-Kansai Expo (EXPO 2025) in 2025, and will be part of the official program of "Study: Osaka Kansai International Art Festival 2025," which will be held at the same time. The event is organized by the Osaka Kansai International Arts Festival Executive Committee (ARTLOGUE Inc., Head Office: Osaka, Representative: Suzuki Daisuke) and co-organized by Korea's leading plastic arts fair, "Plastic Art Seoul (PLAS)."

■Commemorating the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and South Korea! What is the international art fair "Study × PLAS: Asia Art Fair"?
"Study: Osaka Kansai International Art Festival" is an international art festival with the theme of "social impact," which is an approach to social issues through culture and the arts from Osaka and Kansai, triggered by the World Expo in 2025. After pre-events starting in 2022, exhibitions and events will be held throughout the prefecture in 2025 to coincide with the Expo period (April 13th to October 13th).
As one of the iconic events of the art festival, this art fair aims to become a hub connecting cultural exchange and economic development among Asian countries.
Two features of "Study × PLAS: Asia Art Fair"
- More than 60 galleries from Asia are scheduled to participate: A variety of artists and galleries from around the world, mainly from Asia, including Japan, Korea, China, and Indonesia, will gather together to create an exhibition space where diverse perspectives and expressions intersect.
- A wide range of related events will also be held: a Science Art Award, a Creative Business Contest, an interdisciplinary international conference, and other programs that explore the relationship between creativity and society from a variety of perspectives.
*Study×PLAS Asia Art Fair has been certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a "60th Anniversary of the Normalization of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and South Korea" project.

Overview
The Study: Science Art Award, sponsored by Rohto Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., is an open competition that challenges the world to creative expressions that utilize cutting-edge fields such as AI, biotechnology, video, audio, programming, and ecosystems, with the theme of the fusion of science, technology, and artistic expression. The five finalists will exhibit their new plans at the art fair venue, and the final judging will award them the Grand Prix and the Rohto Pharmaceutical Special Award. The total prize money is 1 million yen (including exhibition, production, and travel expenses). With the theme of "Creating the future through the fusion of science and art," the aim is to present a new perspective on social issues by bringing art and science together, and to contribute to the creation of the future society.
[2] Creative Business Contest "StARTs UPs"

Overview
The event will feature a business contest called "StARTs UPs" for startups working in the creative economy, including arts and culture, entertainment, design, and urban development. A pitch event will be held for finalists selected from Japan and overseas, and the Grand Prize, Art Rogue Prize, and Sponsor Prize will be awarded.
This contest will evaluate businesses on their uniqueness, sustainability, and approach to social issues, as well as artistic and creative perspectives, shedding light on the "artistic" side of the business. It will also be taking on a new challenge with the hashtag "Business Contest at the Arts Festival!?"
Selected finalists will be provided with an acceleration program from April to July, where they will be supported in refining their business and strengthening their communication capabilities through mentoring from VCs, large corporations, and experts.
Look out for passionate presentations by entrepreneurs who are leading the future of the creative industries and who have the potential to become a hub for solving social issues.

Overview
This symposium was planned as part of the official program of "Study: Osaka Kansai International Art Festival 2025" and will be held simultaneously with "Study × PLAS: Asia Art Fair", an international art fair commemorating the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and South Korea. With the aim of creating a space for international dialogue and co-creation centered on art, we hope to create a place to face global issues and draw a vision for the next generation of society through transdisciplinary discussions that cross different fields such as art, science, technology, and anthropology.
We will collaborate with universities and research institutes to explore the potential of art as intellectual infrastructure for envisioning the society of the future.
