The Osaka Kansai International Art Festival Executive Committee (Secretariat: ARTLOGUE Inc., Chairman: Suzuki Daisuke) has selected seven companies for the acceleration program "Blooming UPs," which is being run in collaboration with Sakura Internet Inc.!

The acceleration program "Blooming UPs" is finally starting!

Blooming UPs, an acceleration program specializing in the creative economy that supports challenges in a variety of fields such as art, music, fashion, architecture, tourism, and food, is finally about to start. The kickoff will be held at Blooming Camp, an open innovation facility where challengers gather and interact. Here, entrepreneurs will meet peers and supporters, nurture their ideas, and take a step toward execution. Dialogue with instructors and community managers will greatly expand the possibilities for participants.

 

Introducing the 7 selected companies!

Blooming UPs is an acceleration program that aims to pave the way for the future of the culture, arts, and leisure industries. As a first step, seven companies were selected for their creativity and originality, contribution to culture and the arts, and social significance. All of the companies selected this time have diverse backgrounds and vivid imaginations, and are working on projects that embody the values ​​that will be required in the coming era.
Through this two-month program, the students will meet peers and supporters, refine their ideas, and grow into people who can breathe new life into society. Keep an eye out for the new talents and challenges that will emerge from Osaka this spring.

Kick-off Program

The program was carried out at Blooming Camp, operated by Sakura Internet Co., Ltd.
This time, we divided the event into business and art categories, and invited two guests to hold a talk session on the theme of awareness and inspiration.

Guest 1: Taishu Teramoto, CEO of IDABLE WORKS Co., Ltd.

He worked on developing new services as a new business developer at NTT West Japan. He then launched a business to foster student entrepreneurs at Kinki University and supported several student entrepreneurs. He founded the company in July 2020 and planned and developed "HACKK TAG," a gallery platform that combines real and digital. He is the director of the Art Entrepreneurship Program and a part-time lecturer at Kyoto University of the Arts. He is also a part-time lecturer in the Entrepreneurship Practice Program at Doshisha University.


Guest 2: Artist Kaneuji Teppei

Born in 1978. Artist and sculptor. Associate professor in the Sculpture Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Kyoto City University of Arts. Using everyday objects as materials, he creates works using a collage-like technique, cutting out parts and reassembling them to reinterpret existing contexts. He has held solo exhibitions at the Yokohama Museum of Art, the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art (Beijing), and the Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art. He has received the Kyoto City New Artist Award in 2012, the Kyoto Prefecture Cultural Award Encouragement Award in 2015, and the 29th Takashimaya Cultural Fund in 2018.

In addition, we held a workshop and a social gathering with the community manager to determine current issues, the state of the service, and goals for the next two months.
The event was very lively, with talk of the future of each business and collaboration between participating companies coming up.

Blooming Camp Overview

Blooming Camp, which is providing the venue and other assistance for this event, is a facility for open innovation that Sakura Internet Co., Ltd. opened in September 2024 within the Umekita Phase 2 Development Project, Gran Green Osaka.
Blooming Camp aims to create a place and opportunity for diverse people to come together and create the seeds of innovation through these interactions, creating a space where people can connect both in real life and online and where challenges can be born.
