Miratap Co., Ltd. develops and sells kitchen and other residential equipment and construction materials with the philosophy of "Making life fun and beautiful." The company also supports up-and-coming artists active in the field of contemporary art.
"miratap Art Award / Art in The House 2025" is calling for public submissions of exhibition plans that propose a better life style, "life with art."

We welcome plans for not only paintings and photographs, but also wall installations. The winning works will be exhibited in the Miratap Osaka showroom, located right next to Osaka Station. We look forward to seeing exhibition plans that evoke a better life style.
The selection committee includes people active in various fields, including art and business. The Grand Prize winner will receive a cash prize, an exhibition of their work at the Miratap Osaka showroom, and a prize of an article introducing their work in the art media "ARTLOGUE."

Schedule:
April 1 2025: Deadline for submission of work plans
Early April 2025: Judging committee, Grand Prize winner and finalists selected
Results will be announced by April 7, 2025

・You will be asked to exhibit the work based on your submitted plan in the showroom. ・You may be asked to hold an artist talk or workshop. ・You will be asked to create and donate a small piece (a resized or reconstructed work) related to the exhibited work.

2 miratap President's Special Award, 150,000 yen prize, and past works will be displayed in the showroom.

3 Several finalists will be selected to receive a prize of 50,000 yen and have their past work displayed in the showroom.

[Application Guidelines]

Eligibility:
"miratap Art Award / Art in The House 2025" is calling for submissions of plans for artworks to be displayed in the entrance window of the Miratap Osaka showroom.
The venue, the Miratap Osaka showroom, is a stylish space that enhances the enjoyment of building a home.

Job details:
・Plan for an artwork to be displayed on a temporary wall in the Miratap Osaka showroom.
(Materials and techniques do not matter.)
- Limited to unpublished works (however new exhibition plans including older works are acceptable).
・Works that have an unpleasant odor or emit excessive noise or light are prohibited.

Exhibition space:
・Space within the miratap Osaka showroom (2.5mx 2.5mx 2.5m) *Load capacity of 60kg when displaying flat works
-Showroom exhibits and furniture close to the walls cannot be moved.
- It cannot be hung from anything other than a wall.
・For video works, a monitor is acceptable (projectors are not permitted). Applicants must prepare their own playback device.

An artist working in the field of contemporary art.
*No restrictions on nationality, background, gender, age, etc. *Anyone who has no difficulty communicating in Japanese *Students are also welcome *Applicants do not have to reside in Japan, but must be able to come to the venue for the setup and award ceremony (Thursday, June 5th).

One piece per person (one group) *Submit in Japanese
Recommendation:
A letter of recommendation from a recommender is required for the application. *Must be submitted in Japanese. Recommender requirements: The recommender must meet one of the following criteria: ・Curator, art director, cultural arts facility employee
・Art manager, art coordinator, art producer
・Gallerist
・Critic, art journalist, art writer ・University professor (related to culture and arts)
・Artists (those with experience holding solo exhibitions at museums or similar venues)
・Collector (Purchase record of artworks worth more than 500,000 yen per year)
・Others with notable achievements in the art industry

Judging Criteria:
-Customers who visit Miratap's showrooms can imagine that "living with art" will lead to a better lifestyle.
- Works that embody Miratap's design concept of "minimalism" and can blend in with the space containing simple and sophisticated products (works do not have to be simple).
- It is feasible.

About the application:
Application Deadline: Deadline extended to 23:59 on Monday, March 24, 2025. Applications must arrive by 23:59 on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
*No in-person or mailed applications accepted. Please fill out the necessary information in the application form below and submit it. When applying, you will need to submit documents, including a letter of recommendation. Selection results:
The Grand Prize winner and other award winners, including finalists, will be notified in early April 2025. The Grand Prize winner will then be selected through an interview process. The winners will also be announced on Miratap Inc. and ARTLOGUE's Facebook, X, email newsletters, etc.
