Chapter 5: North, South, East and West, a crossroads of cultures [Semba area]
"Re: Human - The New Human Condition"

What will humanity be like in the future? What will change and what will remain the same? And what should we be like in the future? Amid the rapid evolution of technology, the merits and demerits of globalization, and constantly fluctuating values, this exhibition will reexamine life and society and explore the possibility of a new "humanity." A past that dreamed of the future, and a future that questions the past. In the ocean of time that stretches between the two Osaka Expos, this exhibition will take you on a voyage of quiet yet insightful questions about the true nature of humanity through the video, photography, sculpture, painting, installations, and artistic practices of artists across generations.
